* Terrorism and Naxalite violence be countered by V0-IP based GIS-PP
Terrorists as well as Maoist violence both are threat to democracy and election.
Our beloved PM requests them to leave the way of arm and come in to the main stream of democracy. He appealed them for contesting also.
I am a great admire of Vajpayee. He introduced Interlinking River Project.
I am 3rd year B.Tech (Civil) student of IIT-Delhi. My present project is titled:"Least Cost Canal Path Simulation Using Geographical Information System".
The Poster presented by me in ISSMA-2004 tries to elaborate, how terrorism can be countered with the help of Snow and Avalanche Forecasting with V0-IP based GIS-PP and by adopting conventional and unconventional techniques. Creating a knowledge society (including security forces) is the need of to day and fundamental to fulfilling the vision of a developed peaceful India.
The same can be fallowed to counter naxalites.

Stop Critising Each Other
by Virendra Jain on Apr 03, 2004 07:07 PM

Hi,
I would like to suggest to Indian Polictical parties that please stop wasting time on finding out who made faults in the past and anoring on each other. Instead of this they should start thinking of how they can take Indian development measure to peak. They should prepare a plan and put in front of public about their vision of India's devlopment in near future. We know that we have some politician who are Inteligent and Architects in thier area and should suggest and develop a plan and market it as a product for the election. Give the ball in the public court so that they can choose the best plan for their development.

bullshit!!!!!

Josy Joseph suffers from hallucinations induced by Home Ministry documents. Had Josy travelled the length and breadth of India as I have done as a journalist she would know that Maoists, Naxalites, et al, are dangerous but not so important a menace. She is right, in that Kashmiri militancy is as much insignificant. The failure of successive governments at the Centre, who rush into cutting deals on the side, depending on the largely lazy and unintelligent intelligence agencies has led to the present situation in the country.
Go by facts Josy and learn to call a spade a spade irrespective of what your employer/s want to hear and written.

Biggest Threat to Indian Polls

We must support them as they are fighting for the rural poor. Our government has failed to protect the interests of agricultural workers, though we have distributed land among them and introduced a panchayati raj system in Bengal, Chowdhury said at a two-day state committee meeting of the party-controlled West Bengal State Electricity Board Employees Union.

We never cared to know how they would till the land and sell the agricultural produce, he said.

The minister claimed that the activities of the Peoples War and the MCC were helping Left forces and said he would urge Bhattacharjee to hold talks with them to strengthen Left unity. (Telegraph,15-2-2004)
=====================================
This is what a Minister of WB Govt. has to say about PWG and Naxalites and it is supposed to be a "Democratic" Govt! and our Congressman Kapil Sibal calls Advani and other BJP leaders as anti-nationals!
This is Election and Democracy for you. Yechuri are you listening?

biggest threst
by Venkat on Apr 02, 2004 02:55 PM

politics has become an organised looting business in India increasingly since independence. The police in India in tens of thousands are far worse than terrorists and murderers. The politicians and bureaucrats in collusion are gang raping mother india. under the circumstances genuine naxalites's presence is totally justified. The whole problem is with pseudo naxalites and fame naxalites and perverted naxalites. The originals goals of naxalites are completely laudable. There must be some force to check hard core criminal politicians and absolutely corrupt bureaucrats. Most of the police encounters reported are fake. If CBI, judiciary, IT and such other agencies are efficient and honest there is no need to have any naxalites in India today.

Advani's Rath Yatra
by gvs on Apr 02, 2004 02:54 PM

During Gujarat Rathyatra by DPM ,he has shown his sympathy for the congress party. It is a pity that a leader of his stature is talking and giving speeches of this nature. He talks of Bharat and implies that all minorities are indispensable in the process.
Only at the time of elections they are trying to appease muslims with tall promises. His own party men are not happy with their appeal for minorities.
Once the elections are over Bajrang dal and VHP will start showing their true colours.Hope Our INDIA will not go in Afgan way.??

Biggest threat to Indian elections
by SATHYAN on Apr 02, 2004 02:42 PM

The article gives only one side of the story. It gives details of all extremist outfits operating all over India. But has any one analysed why these people turn to violence?
The poor people are hounded by Money lenders and influencial. Even the worst atrocityies commited are not registerd by the police. How can a poor citizen apporoach NGO or a brave journalist?
In Gujarat 2000 muslims were massacared and even to-day culprits are roaming free and intimidating the witnesses. Even Supreme court is of little help to these people. Are they not citizens of "Shining INDIA" ????
