Why not make it

Side by side with the Hi-Tech voting machine, the Election Commission continues to insist on the use of the so-called Indelible Ink for disfiguring the finger-nail (as also the cuticle, and surrounding skin) of the voter. The indelible ink must have been invented by our Ancient Sages, like Viswamitra, Durvasas, Ashtavakra et al. -- perhaps also Medhavi. This ancient knowledge should never be abandoned. For better integration of this Ancient Wisdom with the latest technology, I suggest that the Electronic Voting Machine should be modified to print a Bar Code -- identifying the voter and the particular election, the polling booth, etc. -- on the finger of the voter.
