Indian pitches in the 70's used to start turning during the post lunch or post tea session of the third day unlike today when it turns square from the first ball literally. that has killed test cricket in India. s. Mr. Richard you are not absolutely correct but definitely partly wrong
Indians also batted on the same pitch . So England should not feel that it was cheated. In the first test English spinners controlled the match for the larger period of the game . At that time no body complained about the pitch & blamed the Indians for their inept batting.
In England , when they prepare seaming wickets, they never think about the opponents. So it is time for the English team to stop grumbling & devise ways to tackle the guile of Ashwin & AXAR.
