by Kishor Bhosle on Apr 27, 2021 07:25 AM

because ....

i) matches are played without spectators..
ii) Many states are in lockdown, its an entertainment for ppls by watching matches on TV, if no entertainment ppls will come out and go picnic....
iii) 4 teams playing many matches at one stadium, avoiding travel....
iv) Entertainment channel also telecast new movies/web series free to keep ppls at home entertained

IPL TO GO ON INSPITE OF COVID SURGE
by Mohan Ranganathan on Apr 26, 2021 02:45 PM

CLEARLY IT REFLECTS THE ARROGANCE OF BCCI.I TOO IS WATCHING THE GAME BUT IF SITUATION OF COVID,I STAND FOR BCCI TO CLOSE IT MIDWAY.PEOPLES LIFE IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN CRICKET AND I AM SURE OUR CRICKETERS WHO ARE OUR AMBASSADORS WILL UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT STOPPING OR POSTPONEMENT OF IPL IN RIGHT SPIRIT.MOREOVER ALL THE MATCHES, PLAYERS, STADIUMS, STAFF ETC ARE ALL INSURED WELL AND NO FRANCHISE NEED TO MOURN FOR CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT.ARGUMENT THAT EVEN IN THIS PANDEMIC PEOPLE ARE ENTERTAINED,SO MANY ARE INVOLVED IN ITS SMOOTH FUNCTIONING WILL NOT STAND UP IN FRONT OF A SITUATION WHEREIN MANY ARE DYING DAILY. AFTERALL CRICKET DOESNOT COME UNDER THE ESSENTIAL SERVICES AND CAN BE CLOSED IF PANDEMIC SPREADS..
