Pant as a limited overs batsman is a contender for a place in the team but Pant as a wicket keeper is just average and does not belong while using Rahul as a WK is putting a lot of strain on his career as a batsman. One should select the best for a job and Saha must keep wickets in all formats. Pant has to compete with specialist batsmen for a place and currently he cannot find a spot in the XI as there are other contenders, who can field better as well!
The truth is that India has not found any replacement for Gavaskar a test Opener. India has not found any replacement for Kapil Dev an all-rounder India has not found any replacement for Sachin Tendulkar, the batsman India will never find any replacement for Dhoni, The Keeper, The finisher. He averages 50 while batting at 6. No batsman in the world has 50 average at that position.
Those who are Talking about Rishab Pant as a Regular in all Formats of the Game, they themselves were not Regular in the Scheme of Things in the Game. Only came by Default not by Choice, at a Time when India were looking for a Replacement when the Regular Ones are not Performing. Hitting Sixes is just Not Cricket all about. Rishab has got no Cricketing Sense at all.
see the picture how he is holding the bat. utter failure in the international circuit. he is fit for IPL only. more over he is nuisance behind stump shouting always...he needs to become matured. till then let the retired senior players remain silent. he will gain his place on his own .

I completely agree. He is just a fat bloated buffoon. His keeping is very ordinary and his batting is expansive. He doesn't have the brain to understand when to hit and when to defend. He has only one style which is to hit everything out of the park. Am surprised other teams have not got him out earlier. Sanju Samson needs to tighten up his defense against fast bowling which is what Brian Lara mentioned is his Achilles Heel.
