Ashwin showed real disgrace on field. His act was unsportsman like whatever be the rules. Many indian players will support him out of sheer jingoism. But spirit of the game is supreme. Ashwin did this before too when Sachin and Sehwag prevailed and the decision was stayed. It seems Ashwin has not leaned ethics from that one incidence. Real shame.

He acted within the rules. It was Buttler who did not play in the right spirit by taking advantage of the system.

whether it is called mankading or whatever if this type of dismissal is legal then no one has right to complain about it. there is no question of spirit of the game and ethics. Jos Buttler has no responsibility to maintain the spirit of the game and has no ethics? If this would have done by jos to ashwin will these people had shouted and cried about spirit of the game and ethics?

As for legality, according to the rules of the game, the batsman is out.
As for ethics, the batsman is taking undue advantage and is violating ethics. He deserves to be given out.
As for warning -- why does it become the bowler's responsibility to warn? Every batsman is expected to KNOW the rules, and ABIDE BY the rules. It's not the job of the bowlers to educate or remind the batsmen about rules.
If the batsman tries to take advantage by starting the run before the ball is released ,then the bowler has every right to "mankad" him/her.At times in a run out the batsman is doomed or saved by awhisker. The early start therefore is an undue advantage. In any case in 20/20 the bowlers are always at the receiving end.Ashwin ,I feel, did not violate the spirit of the game.

Batsmen should not run for an extra run for a misfield, especially for an overthrow. Will it be accepted in the "spirit of the game' ? I do not think so. I think the bowler also got the liberty for mankading since the batsman is not supposed to leave the crease before the ball is delivered. When it is T20 the fielding standards are so high and even players dive so dangerously to stop the run flow and by trying for cheeky singles batsmen also take all the risks and sometimes they have to pay the price for it by getting run out through mandaking. T20 is highly competetive version of cricket and the killer instincts of the players will be at its peak in such kind of games.
