Ashwin's sportmanship
by mohammed ali on Mar 27, 2019 11:47 AM

Cricket has always been known as a gentleman's game. Though this seems to take a change these days. In the history of cricket there are very few instances of such actions. Ashwin should have warned Butler.

Its not in true spirit of the game - -

Its not in true spirit of the game - -

BUT ITS WITHIN ICC RULES . Ashwin did not break any rule , so its fair .

But why will any bowler WARN any batsman to remain in the crease until the ball is bowled ?? I can't understand .

Its of course batsman's responsibility to be in the
crease till the ball is delivered , otherwise bowler can always run him out .

Do bowler WARN batsman before taking his wicket by any means ?? NO - - THEN ??

A good spinner has to rely on his bowling capabilities, not this kind of stuff, it looks intentional, he clearly noted that Butler was not watching the bowler, when he stopped Butler was at the crease. A slow bowler always get a chance to do this. setting a bad example for the youngsters.

Who says cricket is Gentleman's game?
by jaganivas mayengbam on Mar 26, 2019 12:05 PM

Kings11 bowlers couldn't eliminate Jos Butler, so Ashwin Backstab him. cricket Laws permit it, but its a coward and dishonorable way to get out the opponent. I saw Chris Gayle (Kings11) once, warning Morgan in a funny way to Mankad him. That is the spirit of cricket.
