Who says cricket is Gentleman's game?
by jaganivas mayengbam on Mar 26, 2019 12:05 PM

Kings11 bowlers couldn't eliminate Jos Butler, so Ashwin Backstab him. cricket Laws permit it, but its a coward and dishonorable way to get out the opponent. I saw Chris Gayle (Kings11) once, warning Morgan in a funny way to Mankad him. That is the spirit of cricket.

Ashwin"Mankads" Butler
by Venkatachalam on Mar 26, 2019 10:56 AM

It is bad for the sport He should have warned Butler once and if Butler repeated he could run him out a second time. I am reminded of a similar incident in one of the world cup matches involving West Indies and Pakistan. The match was a deciding one for both the teams and Courtney Walsh was the captain and the bowler. In a very critical stage the runner batsman overstepped the crease but Walsh refused to runout the player. The act of Walsh was applauded by every sportslover though because of that action West Indies lost the match. Compare this with our Ashwins act.

WHAT A SAD END?

R.ASHWIN, the Former Indian Leading Spinner From Now on will be known more for his Tumultuous Act of Trepidation than his Indelible Chasm as one of the Finest Spinner India had ever Produced. Probably ASHWIN had well Nigh understood the Beginning of his End of his International Career and acted such a Cowardice Act of not only Brusque and abrasive but also Disdainful. Should Ashwin be Debared from International Cricket and I think Ashwin is the Trudged of his own Demon for Trying one too Many which has caused his Downfall.

HE HAD NOT DONE IT ANYTHING AGAINST THE CRICKET FRAMED RULE
by Sriram Srinivasan on Mar 26, 2019 09:53 AM  | Hide replies

ASHWIN HAD NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG AGAINST THE LAW. WHY WARNING IS REQUIRED.. AS PER CRICKET BOTH HAS TO BE IN CREASE BEFORE THE DELIVERY OF THE BALL AND IF THE BATSMAN COMES OUT AS UNLAWFULLY, WHY THIS HAS BEEN ACCEPTED???
WHEN HE HAS TO RUN 22YARDS FOR GETTING ONE RUN AND IF THE BATSMAN HAD RUN PARTIALLY BEFORE THE BALL GETS DELIVERED, IS IT RIGHT?? HE HAD NOT DONE ANY BALL TAMPERING OR NOT OBSTRUCTED THE RUNNERS WHILE RUNNING FOR THE RUNS....INFACT HE TEACHES THE DISCIPLINE FOR THE RUNNER TO BE IN CREASE TILL THE BALL IS DELIVERED.
THIS IS MY VIEW...

I think, once Kapil Dev also did, if I am correct. Whether it is a good act or bad but to restrict/warn the player who runs before the ball is delivered - a reminder warning

Why warn?? If its there in the rules, it must be have been there after due deliberation, otherwise warning would have been there. I think batsman was taking undue advantage by taking additional strides and being unreasonable, unfair and acting against the spirit of the game. Why is he not being criticized. If a batsman gets injured while taking a run and can't complete the run, don't the fielding team run him out? is that fair? Bouncers to tailenders, switch hits, sledging...there are several examples which are debatable, can't understand why this case has been singled out. Nowadays, this game is played professionally, the hard way, not an inch is given to the opposing team so why give a couple of yards away!!

Then if batsman is caught out...then he should be warned to play properly and given one more chance...if batsman is booled he should be warned...if he his hitoout he should be warned...otherwise it is against the spirit of the game..anything written in the rule book should first be warned and given one more chance....
