Position : 4 & 5 can be varied depending on situation. while Chasing- Suresh Raina to Bat at 4 and Ambati Rayudu to bat at No.5 and while Batting First Vice versa.
More to my observation on Rahane, players like Jadeja (at 7), Raina (at 5)are also very imp for being left handers, gritty bowlers & outstanding fielders.
AJINKYA IS NOT CONSISTENT. THERE ARE LOT PLAYER IS BETTER THAN AJINKYA LIKE SHEREYAS & RAINA. SHREYAS IS CAPABLE OF PLAYING LONG INNINGS. RAINA IS ALSO GOOD BATSMAN, BOWLER & FIELDER. HE IS HAVING EXPERIENCE.WHAT THE HAIL BCCI IS THINKING. VIJAY SHANKAR IS NOT THE ALROUNDER. THEN Y THINKING ABOUT HIM. PLAY SPECIALIST BATSMAN.

But do u remember the century of rahane in last world cup game against south africa in Australia? He was the only player who handled Styen and company with class batting. The players whom you are saying they dont have any tempoment at all. They only are suitable when the opening pair performs and no pressure on them and also for only last 15 overs. But when opening pair fails we need player like dhoni, rahane, kohli who can play the whole innings.

BCCI and selectors should have given opportunities to S Iyer and Mayank Agarwal and Prithawi Shaw and Manish pandey for middle order , they are much better batsman. Selectors should be fair, honest and on merits.
