Dhoni
by suravarapu rao on Mar 12, 2019 09:39 PM

He is calm and quiet. He gives scope for every one to play to their best without interfering. He does his job with simplicity. In this age, he is not expected to do miracles but he encourages others to do miracles. Hence the need for his participation. No doubt youngesters should be given chance to increase their confidence. If any one is better, then Captain to decide. Overall coolness rests with Dhono and none else.
Jai Hind. Jai Bharat.

SEE WHAT BEDI SAYS ABOUT MSD - -
by Shilpa Mehta on Mar 12, 2019 10:52 AM

May be MSD's presence as a keeper , batsman & his inputs during the game is very vital , Viraat must learn to
survive without MSD because MSD will retire in a year or so .

How long Viraat will depend upon spoon feeding ??

And yes , still some fools & our media says : MSD has
past his prime , he's useless , he must be sacked etc etc - -

And yes, - - those who were banking upon Pant - -

must have now realized the importance of MSD in the team .

Retirement is inevitable for all great players and Dhoni is not an exception. Team should learn to live without him and Kohili should be able to manage by himself even in the absence of Dhoni. Dohni is in the end of his career whereas Kohili is in his prime time and he may have atleast 5 years left with him to play for team India. After that he also has to retire. The game should go on and let us not forget team India survived even after all time great Sachin's retirement when everybody thought that gap will remain unfilled. Then Kohili emerged as one among the best players he shows the calibre even to break a few all time records set by Sachin. By saying so I am not undermining the greatness of Sachin Tendulkar. Again we had many more great players like Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, VVS Lakshman, Shewag, Ganguly, Mohmd Ashruddin, Yuvraj Singh etc etc and even after their retirement Team India is doing well with the existing lot of players. What Bedi mentioned about the over experimentation (too much of team reshufflling) in anticipation of world cup is a perfect observation and I also have mentioned this through my comments in rediff many times before. If the team management and the Cricket fans feels that Dhoni should play in the ensuing world cup, absolutely no issues on that. Then pls include Rshab Pant even as a batsman and finalize a bench strenght of maximum 15 players for the forthcoming matches till world cup. Too many players should be in and out as an experimentation.

Last line pls read as....Too many players should not be in and out as an experimentation for finalizing the world cup squad. Also let us not keep high expectations on winning the world Cup. There are equally good teams and even some teams can show improved perfomance in world cup. The mind set of the players participating in world cup will be entirely different and their desire to win the Cup for their country will be equally strong as that of Team India. Now about the fourth ODI loss, this happened due to the sudden emergence of a match winner which upset all calculations of team India. Such kind of exploding innings are not happening too often in the recent past, but in the last decade there were many players who were able to turn the difficult matches in their favour like Jayasurya, Shewag, Yuvraj Singh, Kapil Dev, Lance Clusener, Kerchelle Gibbs, Chris Gale and definitely MS Dhoni as well when he was in his peak form. Kohili is not a hard hitter like these players. In world cricket we do not have such kind of players in this era with the exception of Chris Gale who is on the verge of retirement.

NO REPLACEMENT FOR MSD
by pradeep pawar on Mar 12, 2019 08:40 AM

I find that there is no option for MSD, you have tried young blood time and again without any result. I feel that the team should go with DK instead as he is serious about his role. The likes of Kedar, Shankar, Jadeja will add to the teams all round performance. Selectors should now zero on the best 15 for the WC19 and stop experimenting.

by mihir mehta on Mar 11, 2019 11:11 PM

this shows that these players r too overhyped, the bowlers cant defend a total of 360 ?.keeper misses stumpings.
maybe they r all waiting for their lottery IPL .forget WORLD-cup. other teams players r ready to smash this team bowlers beyond 350 each time they bowl.look at chahal 10 overs 75 runs.these bowlers will play in world cup?
wonder why bowlers like bhajji, ashwin r kept out ?.

You are absolutely correct.Captain Kohli is big zero without Dhoni on the field.Dhoni's onfield advise to Kohli is a big boon to the team.
