MSD has his own style of batting . Initially he will be watchful & bit slow but he will accelerate later on . He can hit sixes & fours at his will ( He may fail on few occasions but mostly he will succeed )
SO NO NEED TO CRITICIZE MSD OR JADHAV'S SLOW SCORING RATE .
Pant is brought in as replacement for Dhavan and if Dhavan was fit then definitely he should have opened with Rohit. Wonder why Pant is denied of his chances especially when he is brought to England in place of Dhavan.
Vijay Sankar was injured and was not fully fit for the match against Afghanistan. If his role was only as a batsman, then why Pant was not given a chance instead of him. Needless to say Pant can do much better with the bat than Shankar. Wonder someone is so adamant to keep Pant out, even after many senior players from India and abroad suggested from the very beginning that Pant should have been included in the team. He has played very well in England and Australia and scored centuries. Only plus point with Vijay Shankar is that he is inlcuded as an all rounder even though he is not having any credible track records in this dual role. Pant as a wicket keeper may not be as good as Dhoni due to lack of exposure, but he can do better than the present Dhoni with the bat. Still I would suggest let Dhoni be there, but give Pant also a chance atleast as a batsman.
This is rubish idea to replace with pant. Its Shakuni idea to ensure India should not enter even semi. whole world know , because of dhoni , kholi is standing freely with out captency pressure. dhoni is doing field setting , still a wonderful and great to have in cricket , like Modi to India. Pant is not a good player for 50v ODI and test matches , because his batting for T20 only, keeping is worst. jai hind..
The match against Afghanistan proved that if the top three batsman fall early,India will struggle to put up a good score.Dhoni,Vijayshankar or Jadhav are not good enough.Rahane or Pujara should have replaced Dhawan with KL Rahul coming in at number four.This did not happen.With the current selection of the team,the correct approach should be one or two of the top three should play till the 40th over.If India are to win this World Cup,Kohli has to take the responsibility of scoring a century in each of the remaining matches.Like Kane Williamson for NZ.
