He made another gross and stupendously third class error in giving Jason Roy out in the semis against Australia but he does not regret because he lacks shame.
The more funnier part of the decision is the ICC rules on overthrows. If any fielder throws in anticipation of run out and it doesn't hit anything and missed by backup player and goes for runs it is logical and acceptable, but if ball hits the runner either on the body or bat and goes for runs, i think it is highly irrational, illegal and unethical to grant runs for the same. It is a highly ridiculous rule. So as the rule to grant the world cup to England on account of boundaries scored, rather than wickets lost. In fact there is a report which says that Stokes requested Dharmasena that the overthrow runs may not be granted, but still idiotically it was given. The world cup should have gone to New Zealand. Even the pitches were pretty bad...Almost all the games followed a trend, most chases were unsuccessful, Toss became the lottery for a win. Very poor management at the highest level at the mecca of cricket.

You are right. In other matches, including IPL, this umpire has given many wrong decisions. Due to limited reviews allowed, his errors went uncorrected. But, the WC error was the worst. The loser won and the winner lost. So, shame that he has no regret !
It 's a Grave Mistake by the inefficient Umpire. He is unfit to be an Umpire. With his bad decision, the real winner is denied the cup. He may not regret but the cricket lovers will not Pardon. He might have resigned by this time.
Dharmasena is a piece of trash. He needs to be thrown out of ICC panel. He's made so many mistakes in the past which had cost teams lot of matches. His performance needs to be reviewed and he should be thrown back to Sri Lanka where he can rectify his errors and continue umpiring for domestic leagues and matches in SL.
