With due respect to Dhoni, let us not forget the fact that he only told a few years back Seniors should pave for youngsters. He directly mentioned the names of all time greats like Sachin, Shewag in that list. Such comments he made for a good future of Indian cricket are applicable to him as well. Many young talents are waiting for a chance.

Agree. It would be better if Gambir focused on his new job as legislator than that of BCCI selectors. He should talk about what he is done and doing for the constituency he represents.

You CSK fans will only talk Dhoni whereas we hate to the very sight of Dhoni. He should be replaced by fresh young players like Sanju Samson immediately who was the first person to score a century inspite of an injury in the Ranji Trophy match. High time we forget Dhoni and concentrate on new boys. Gambhir is the right voice and we admire him for his courage and his contributions to the welfare of cricket.

Gambhir has served very well for the country as a cricketer. His commitment to team India and experience should be respected. He is right to say that Dhoni should follow his own advice and give an opportunity to youngsters for the future of Indian cricket.
Gambhir has taken up the cause of our brave armed forces too- many others go there only to gain personal popularity. He is praiseworthy. His advice deserves serious consideration

Dhoni's 50
by manoj sharma on Jul 19, 2019 02:13 PM  | Hide replies

Without Dhobi's 50 India would not have managed more than 160-175. Also, Jadeja would not have played so freely without Dhoni alongside him. The only thing that goes against Dhoni finds himself at the crease when the result of the match is decided or about to be decided and if the team loses he is blamed for it. So criticizing him for the loss is not correct.

Said it. People like Sainibanvait are sick. Gambhir is the right person to head the BCCI and to weed out biased individuals like Kapil Dev, Ravi Shastri and Gavaskar. BCCI has become Board of Cricket Control of North and Western India instead of BCCI (Board of Cricket Control of India). Dhoni should leave immediately for the future of cricket.

Had Dhoni survived the direct hit by Martin Guptil, the story would have been different, and all these guys would have praised him like a God after the match! He played well in all the matches as per situations. Nobody has the right to criticize the great Dhoni

Selfish Dhoni wanted to become hero and became zero with the loss of India in the Semifinal that is the truth. He thinks he is the only player and the player on the other side are just lampposts.

Indian selectors lack spine and gut
by Nitesh on Jul 19, 2019 12:39 PM

It's in our genes. We love hero worshipping. We dont have the capability to take rough and tough decisions and never anticipate the future until it arrives. Hence our history of being dogs to Mughals, Turks, British, Portuguese etc. A british signboard during the days of Raj aptly read "Indians and dogs not allowed". Neatly put.

Confounding !!!
by keshavmurthy k on Jul 19, 2019 11:49 AM  | Hide replies

For quite some time now Gautam Gambhir has been repeatedly harping upon the need to excise M S Dhoni from the Indian team on the plea that his continued presence robs another young wicket-keeper from maturing into a first-eleven player. On the face of it, his argument seems logical. Yet, why does one get a feeling that Gambhir's repeated pleas are not as simple as they seem? Remember, he was sought to be sidelined alongwith a few others many years ago by Dhoni as they were "unfit" fielders on the ground? Why do I feel that Gambhir is now using his clout to pay back Dhoni in the same coin? Dhoni, unlike others who lingered a while longer than they were welcome, is too wise to follow on their footsteps. Mr. Gambhir, you have chosen a new vocation. Please concentrate on that for your own good and for the good of cricket lovers in the world.

Gambbir is right. Some years back, Dhoni had apprehensions about some players who, in his opinion, have become slow movers. Even though he had not mentioned any specific names, his remark was meant for Sachin, Sahwag, Laxman etc.... By the same yardstick, he should quit now. Since last two years, his reflexes have become slow which has greatly affected his batting and to some extent, his keeping.... Let him continue to play for CSK in IPL where he is more comfortable and where he always put some extra efforts!
