LBW review
by rajesh agrawal on Jul 16, 2019 03:12 PM

In LBW the ball pitched in line and hit leg stump . But batsman was not out as the third empire has to go by on field empire decision. Whereas the ball pitched off the line and hit the wicket. The third empire has to go by on field empire. So I think on field empire were supporting England team on that day.

Umpiring error cost New Zealand World Cup?
by Shabbir Haidri on Jul 16, 2019 11:21 AM  | Hide replies

I still do believe that poor ICC rules & umpiring alternated the World Champions. ICC should look into this matter seriously otherwise such below standard rules will discourage cricket lovers & reduce respect for ICC made rules. Please make decisions on merit basis & take time if required. We want fair result ultimately as we are having luxury of using technologies.

It is typical of Britain / England where several ball games originated but deserted them. At last by hook or crook, they won a big-match, albeit undeservingly.

Spirit of the law is missing
by rajendran on Jul 16, 2019 09:06 AM  | Hide replies

it is to be noted that it is not a reflection from the same fielding side but a reflection from the other batting side player's bat. Whether done knowingly or unknowingly, the moment it prevented the fielding side to do stumping or hitting the stump directly, which was possible it should have been declared as "Dead Ball" and 2 runs which he completed should have been awarded and not 5 or 6. That is the spirit of the game. It was a spirited fight for 102 overs in total yet no results. Should have been declared as Joint winners.- Rajendran Sivaramapillai

Why so much hue and cry?
by deepak jayawant on Jul 16, 2019 07:58 AM

In earlier days there was a word "Sportsman spirit", it's totally missing now!, there should be no such discussions like a "cry baby",in any came umpire's decesion is the final one!,even the so called Third umpire"is a non-sense!...game must be played as a game and not like a ":Video game"and should be played in fair spirit and totally on human perception of the players and umpire

Actually, New Zealand is the real winner whereas England is the Umpire assisted winner.

It's a Tampered umpiring in the Finals. The umpire over enthusiastically declared as 6 runs even though only one run was completed by the time the overthrow crossed the boundary. Or has he done as a match fixing?

Umpiring like ,Dickie Bird and David Shepherd
by sujogya mishra on Jul 15, 2019 08:44 PM  | Hide replies

In the 70's and 80's produced umpire like Dickie Bird and David Shepherd with least error of judgements. Now the standards of umpiring is very low. their are several instances and example in 2019 icc world cup due for bad umpiring team lost the match bot in league as well in knockout stage.
