Return the cup
by sanjay mahadik on Jul 15, 2019 08:13 PM

English should honourably return the cup to NZ. DO method is used for runs and wickets, where from this boundary rule is coming from . All senior idiots can't find the flaw in rules? . SHAME.

congrats to both the teams

Congrats to both England and New Zealand team for playing the best. How England declared winners on the number of boundaries.Rule doen't seem proper I think few years back rule was better if the scores are tied the team losing less number of wickets were the winners and in this case it was Newzealand who were the winners, but rules like these and during rains with more runs and less overs seems to be ridiculous.Luck had favoured England

S_T_U_P_I _D RULE - - - - - ICC
by Shilpa Mehta on Jul 15, 2019 10:50 AM

Number of more boundries hit , rule is ridiculous .

If one team hits 20 boundries in their 50 overs & other

team scores same 80 runs by hitting sixes , then how can

team hitting more boundries will be declared winners ??

AND MOREOVER - - - WHAT IF NUMBER OF BOUNDRIES HIT BY
BOTH THE TEAMS OR WICKETS LOST ARE ALSO SAME - - - ??

ignoThe only difference between the two sides is

Williamson persisted with his out-of-form Boult being plundered for boundaries and ignored economical Santner, while Morgan immediately removed Stokes from bowling after his three expensive overs. Such 'small' things matter a lot in close knoct-out games, guys!!!

Joint winners
by palanki narayana on Jul 15, 2019 09:22 AM  | Hide replies

(1)Both should have been declared joint winners. After all, in case of a tie, the points are split at the league stage.
(2) New Zealand could have been awarded the cup as they lost less number of wickets in 50 overs.
(3) When the scores are equal what is the sanctity of more number of boundaries? Four singles add up to same number as one four!

Sorry sir, loosing less wickets for same score probably implies lesser effort put in by that particular side in batting!!!

Lesser effort? Even when the scores are equal?
'Losing' not 'loosing'.
