India lost to NZ
by Narayanan V on Jul 11, 2019 10:26 AM  | Hide replies

What about D Kartick. He took 22 balls to score a run, of course a 4. But he was never comfortable . All except the bowlers and Jadeja made a mess of it. we can not expect Rohit & Kohli every time, but what about Rahul ? Forget it . The selectors & the coach did a bad job for not giving an opportunity to Rahane, Pujara and the like.

Agree with you. Chahal really bowled poorly and went for more than 60 runs in 10 overs, which was not pardonable on this wicket.... Now few words about Dhoni. When he came, India was 71/5 in about 22 overs and he made just 5 runs in first 20 balls. With his experience of 350 ODI's (including 4 WC tournaments), he could have easily rotated the strike as at that time, c De Grandhome and Santner were the bowlers. As usual he took his own time to settle and tried accelerating only after Jadeja's departure. Even during his partnership with Jadeja, he was not making attempts to score a run a ball..... While keeping wickets, he dropped a simple straightforward catch of Ros Taylor when Taylor was in his twenties....Since last two years, barring isolated performances, it is clear than Dhoni has past his prime and he should voluntarily announce his retirement.

The match was lost in the first 10 overs of the Indian Innings.
Poor shot selection and over confidence. We are not equipped to handle sheer pace and swing and that showed in our performance. India team has to move on. Strengthen our Middle order and get ready T20 world cup. Good Luck!!!

YOUR TOP ORDER CANNOT ALWAYS SCORE - SOMETIMES THEY MAY FAIL
by Shilpa Mehta on Jul 11, 2019 10:11 AM  | Hide replies

Main reason was the loss was irresponsible throwing of

wickets by Pant & Pandya by playing loose shots at that
stage .

There was absolutely NO NEED to play those airy shots by

set batsman , when 150 more runs still needed for victory .

But HATS OFF to Jadeja & MSD that they fought till the

end but could not cross finishing line , otherwise defeat

would have been humiliating under 150 .

ANYWAY - - - IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES - - - FORGET IT .

Now , ENG - AUS GAME WILL BE INTERESTING .
