India's defeat
by Jugal Ahuja on Jul 11, 2019 11:56 AM

Everyone is finding reasons for India's defeat. But spare a thought for NZ, did they not play very well, bowled & fielded brilliantly, read the pitch very well, and spaced their innings likewise. We should accept NZ played better than us and deserved to win.

look at the 13 wides! chahel s last over went for 18 runs.lots of overthrows by indian fielders was giving NZ easy 1--2 runs and these players were taking it easy.

faulty selection of DK .at first they tried shankar, kedar and then brought in pant, ignored rayadu, players like pant ,DK should have got more games, also ignoring rayadu cost them hard

S Dhawan was missed

NZ team dismissed key players rohit, kohli for nothing but NZ key players kane , and taylor made maximum runs

Yes Mehta, I agree with your point. SELECTORS ARE THE REAL BLUNDERERS. India urgently needs to throw away these type of Idiot selectors to save the teaam. DK was absolutely a WRONG CHOICE. Feel sorry for Raidu.

Agreed. Then who according to you are better than VK as captain, Rohit and Rahul as openers, Panth as no.4, Pandya , Jadeja as middle-order batsmen, Dhoni as WK, Bumrah, Bhuvi, and Shami as pacers, Kuldeep as spinner? Please answer this one, as you have better insights of player's ability and experience.

Foolish Coach tried to experiment even at semidinal stage
by debidas bandyopadhyay on Jul 11, 2019 11:47 AM

I don\'t understand the logic behind dropping Sami and inclusion of DK for such a vital match. It\'s disgusting that irrespective of such a strong batting line-up India failed to score 240 which was one of the lowest score in this tournament. Pantand Hardik was in hurry to throw their wickets. A silver lining was the brave inning of Jadeja... replied strongly to the team management and at least finished with some cheers to Indian Supporter

Loss of India at hands of NZ
by madhav gokhale on Jul 11, 2019 11:43 AM  | Hide replies

One reason behind India's 18 run loss was lack of crunch matches in this tournament. India a sort of "Walk over" treatment by all the teams including surprisingly, Aussies. NZ on the other hand, come through some crunch games including defeats. Hence they were accustomed to nerves much more than Indian players. This coupled with their not so spectacular but useful fielding and out of world catch ultimately made the difference. Otherwise the teams were at Par. The bowlers on either side excelled and the innings of Dhoni and Jadeja were at Par with those by Willamson and Taylor. It was fitness and nerves which favoured NZ

Poor pitch
by Karthik Pai on Jul 11, 2019 11:01 AM  | Hide replies

Rains spoiled the pitch to such an extent that, World no. 1 and 2 batsmen could not manage more than 1 run. NZ was lucky that rains interrupted their innings only after they played 46.1 overs. Had it come in first 20 overs, then it would have been a different ball game.

Sorry Karthik Pai, I can't agree with you. See, you can't blame the pitch. You can say that the NZ bowlers have utilized the pitch very well i.e. far better than the Indian bowlers. If there is anybody to blame, I would blame the Indian Selectors. I can't understand why they picked up DK instead of Ambaty Raidu.

I said pitch spoiled by rains. Get it. Rains did not come in 1st 46.1 overs. The pitch for NZ batting was far better than what it became after rains intervened. Even NZ lost quick wickets after 46.1 overs.

India's loss to NZ
by Pradip Datta on Jul 11, 2019 10:48 AM

Lack of farsightedness by the team management and selectors. Not including Pujara and Rahane in the middle order. Secondly, Virat and Ravi has turned into a rash headed person with their whimsical selection of team.Basically the middle-order was the selection of Ravi Virat & MSK Prasad. They should take responsibility and resign immediately.

if shami was selected...then newzealand would have definitely crossed 300...as you know how much he gave against bangladesh & srilanka during league stage.

Why India lost to NZ
by on Jul 11, 2019 10:41 AM

It was over confident of the less number of runs scored by NZ but it was a total defendable they did it, first ten overs India openers should have studied the pitch and movement of the ball where as they swang the bat as if they are practicing but to my knowledge Old traford pitch is good to score runs up to 250 team batting second,
