First look at yourself
by Sandeep Singh on Jul 16, 2019 09:45 PM

Jadeja performed very well in the only two matches he played, don't drag him along with Karthik and Shankar!!!
Then look first at selection committee itself, that now needs to be changed!!!

India lost because of OVER CONFIDANCE, ARROGANANCE. Thus they didn't t Deseerve Cup. Better Focus on OTHER SPORTS.

The team for the future
by keshavmurthy k on Jul 11, 2019 02:05 PM

The Indian team's loss in the semi-final of the World Cup is not such a catastrophe as it is made out to be. The law of averages just caught up with our team. Rohit Sharma and Kohli were due to fail and it was bad luck that they failed at the crucial moment. Rahul is unduly praised for his classical style of batting which is alright. But he needs to realise that just style is not enough; scores are also important. Coming down, past players like Ganguly, Manjrekar, etc. lavishly praise Pant; but Pant is just not mature enough to be in the team. He has absolutely no consistency. His fielding is a disaster and his induction into Indian's team is based on his hitting skills in T20 matches, which is a different kind of game. Pandya is here and there, but he is a good fielder and a an okay bowler. What about the others? Karthik, Jadhav, Vijay Shanker and Manish Pandey have had their chances and they came up trumps. Where does that lead us to? We need to look at Gaekwad, Shubman Gill, Easwaran and Shaw (if he misbehaves, he could be dumped!) Regarding our bowlers, they have done a wonderful job. They can continue.

India need to look at that middle order: Srikkanth
by amit suhane on Jul 11, 2019 01:53 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Srikanth Ji

Win and loss are the two sides of livelyhood , but genuine efforts needs to be put up.It was another die hard day for Team India at times it clicks at another it woos off. So no need to post such ballastic comments.
Few players who were projected in 3'D flight failed, such belligerent projections needs to be really looked after.Rather the team of intellectual selectors should be honest and foresighted enough to stack and allow the real 3 Dimensional players (on the likes of Shankar/ Agarwal/ Jadhav/ Pant) who can easily sustain the ongoing pressure as seen in Ind/Eng and Ind/Nz match.

Jadeja and Dhoni were criticized but look who saved from the merciless defeat ''''them''. Rather they should be hailed and a lesson should be learnt.
Greediness for the trophy should be replaced by hunger for runs/ wickets and charismatis potentiality of warrior.

Nooooo! Dhoni broke the back Jadeja's innings by allowing asking run rate to shoot up despite some good strikes only by Jadeja, try to look at the things impartially and not as a blind bhakt of some player!!!

Could have easily selected Rahane in place of Pant after Dhawan's injury. Had he been there he would have certainly played better than many others against fast bowling

There was no middle order for entire tournament
by P.Prabhu on Jul 11, 2019 10:45 AM  | Hide replies

As we saw, in most of the matches, Indian openers took care of middle order and everybody else tried to slog. Same situation in 2003 world cup when Shane Bond blew up top order, Dravid and Kaif showed brilliant display of technique and patience and won the match for India, that is missing in this current squad. I personally feel there should be one batsmen in the squad who can accumulate runs and show some patience and technique when conditions are tough, like Pujara, Manish Pandey, Rahane etc, but people do not like them for their slow approach.
