I can congratulate him as the only person who succeeded against the fast quartet of windies. But cannot forgive him for dropping Kapildev in one test against windies in 1983.
I was watching your match against Tamil Nadu in Salem in 1971 when the selection list for twin tour of WI and England was annanounced. Ashok Mankad was croud favourite at that time. Nobody knew they were within hand shaking distance of aone of the finest greatest batsman in the world. Happy birthday Sunny
Yes, I have no doubt he was technically the best batsman of world cricket whom at least I have seen. Great Marshall, Holding, McDermott & many others accepted this. Most importantly he not only went on scoring runs under heavily difficult situations both against pace & spin, never got injury while facing these speedsters without helmet. He was & even today also the best in the world & there should not be any difference of opinion.
Dear Sunil sir, wishing you a very happy birthday and healthy life and also salute you for your achievements on cricket ground as well as fearless commentator
wish you a happy birthday sunny .. both sunil gavaskar and gundappa viswanath are the two batmen - we will remember for ever for the way they played .. Truly greats.
