India did not want to win. They played politically, at times varying pace of the game to make it as real as possible. They wanted to keep Pakistan out as the memory of Champions Trophy final is still haunting (In league stage stage India won comfortably and in Final Pakistan won without fight). This shows patriotism of all the players and especially Dhoni. Only thing he missed is to heave the bat (and not connect) so that people would have not criticized him for not scoring
The team selection and playing 11 is all the more baffling than Dhoni's chase. There is lot of inexperience in KL Rahul (who after 5 matches has no confidence in him), Ravindra Jadeja not playing is shocking and selection of people like Pant and Mayank Agarwal instead of Ambati Rayudu or Robin Uthappa. God help Indian team
In yesterday's match if criticism is needed it is required for both Rohit Sharma and Kohli, notwithstanding their 100 and 50 score, they batted extremely slowly for 16 overs, not expected when you are chasing 338. They should have picked up the tempo and brought the RPO around 5-5.5 They are extremely senior players and supposed to be good chase masters but all that defied logic yesterday for first 15-16 overs. In this match Pant, Pandya, Dhoni cannot be blamed, they tried their best. Even considering a T-20 situation of 200 odd runs in 20 overs, it can be tried if 10 wkts were there, but not with 4 down. Dhoni can and must be blamed for performance against Afghanistan and West Indies. The struggle against Afghanistan bowling was pathetic. In both the games, we were 30-40 runs short. As highly paid, idolized stars, they should also realise their responsibility, accountability and pride. Even in the worst situation, effort should be visible, which wasn't much to be seen except for bowlers in the 3 games. It was great that when one thought England would push to 375-400, they were brilliantly restricted to 338, had Stokes been somehow controlled, the score would have been even lower. Kudos to Indian bowlers.

Lol, blame Rohit n Kohli? Have U ever played Cricket or even have basic abc knowledge of Cricket; I doubt strongly so. If Rohit n Kohli didn't play that way against the best of Bowling of England, India would have been all-out around 250 and Dhoni would have been not-out at 50-60 of 90-100 balls.

Whatever maybe but our weakness in the middle order stands exposed. Also I think we have an allergy in playing Md. Shami albeit his record breaking performances.

when even England captain in post match admitted that the pitch was getting slower as the game progressed and run making was also becoming difficult, how any one can crticise Dhoni for getting only 42 run out of 32 balls he received in the last 5 overs?

Its become baffling to find former Indian cricketers after wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni's blood. Instead of blaming one man, the blame should go to others too. Forget yesterday's lose, now its time top bring Jadeja in , and drop Kedar Jadhav. Jadeja down the order is quick run-getter and his bowling and fielding is far superior to Kedar. no use of crying over spilt milk.
