The rule that was applied had no relevance
by Chaitanya on Jan 24, 2019 08:01 PM  | Hide replies

The rule that was applied to suspend the players relates to "players conduct that can bring the Board into disrepute".

Now someone please tell me -- how exactly does these players' conduct bring the Board into disrepute?

Which aspect of their conduct?

Their talk on the show?

How can that talk bring the Board into disrepute?

How does any of it rub off on the Board at all?

If the Board goes into disrepute, it will be for things like politicking, embezzlement, conflict-of-interest, favoritism, lack of procedural transparency, and yes --- reckless application of inapplicable rules on hapless young men.

The moral standards of two individuals on their personal relationships will in no way have any relevance to the Board's reputation.

A clear-case of arrogant high-handedness.

If anyone should take action, it should be the NCW, the Department of Women and Child Welfare, and the Ministry of I&B. BCCI has no authority or say here.

If a cricketer rapes somebody, it won't put board into disrepute... is that fine to allow that guy to play for India?

This warning looks good enough.

As long as they have not done any crime, they can be forgiven. Let this be a lesson to all celebrities. The mental trauma they have undergone for the past two weeks is good enough to make them cultivate a good behavious in future. Such mistakes can be forgiven for once, but if repeated then need to take stringent action and can impose life ban from cricket if required.

Big relief for Pandya and Rahul
by uday shankar on Jan 24, 2019 07:03 PM

Hope they will from now on learn to behave themselves and not get carried away. Other cricketers should also know this would happen to them. All are under scanner of the public. Karan Johar should not play with careers with such silly shows. A new beginning for the two. Vinod Rai should be appreciated for this.
