I strongly recommend that Rohit should be played as an Opener in the Tests too. He is in the Virendra Sehwag mould. He can give that impetus to the innings which can make scoring at the run rate of 4 possible consistently.That is a recipe for success in Tests.
What ever R Pant has scored has become a history. After that lucky innings, he never shown his capacity and capablity to play neither the shorter version or in the test Matches. But we are compromising on quality batsman and wicket keepers. Ishan Kisshan seems to be better option if they prefer a left hander. Rohit Sharma has not been tested in the recent times in the test matches. once he is inducted he will be a different player as he is aware what is he missing in the test matches. Like in the 50 over match, he can open the innings as has started the slow start and making it a big one . Otherwise we are wasting and frusterating a talented batsman like Rohit Sharma.
