He should have been an automatic choice for no 4 in the World cup.Now, We need to give him more opportunities to perform. He looks more solid than the other new comers. Pant should probably come at no 6.
Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson are gifted players with very good composure and temperament. Still they were kept out of WC squad and brought in some players of less calibre.
Include W Saha as the wicket keeper in the place of R Pant. have you seen him batting yester day? He has just thrown his wickets away and not even care for playing few ball and understand the wicket. Pl do not waste anymore time and effort on Pant. He needs grooming. Have Sheryas Iyer in the test side also as he has the balanced temperament and he can play as per the demand.He wanted to consolidate his batting/position. The test match is a different ball game. Try different spin combination to allow rest for the main fast bowlers. The pitch is slow and turning in WI.

Pant did very well in test matches in Australia and England by hitting two centuries. Also he holds the maximum number of catches as wicket keeper for India. I think he is getting confused how to go about it in shorter version of the game. He is trying to continue IPL heroics and he has to change his mind set. Start like playing in test cricket for shorter version as well. Even while doing so he can maintain a good run rate above 80.
