Pant is a fantastic batsman. Gives much confident to the team when he is in the team. he should selected instead of karthik. India done a slight mistake.

Out of 15 members squad only one player K.L Rahul doesn't deserve the chance. Selectors had not done justice with Rayudu. All other 14 members deserve the place and only Rayudu missed and the slot went to K.L Rahul for buttering the captain and Shastri Mamu.
In 50 overs match Manish Pandey won so many matches for India even at No.6 & is a suitable player at No.3 or 4. But KL rahul is not performed consistently in 50 overs match. Kedar Jadhav is a useless fielder. Jadeja should be promoted at No 6 & useful emergency 6th bowler in 50 over match. Shreyas Iyer is ideally a useful player for one dayers. Good hitter especially in slog overs. Otherwise this is a good side. Bowlers and alrounders are plenty. Even Bhuvi is an alrounder

Once the top order batsman fail to score,then no one in the calibre of Cheteswar Pujara Mayank Agrawal,Ambati Rayudu are there to build up the innings in the middle. How one can rely upon Vijaya Shankar who lacks maturity of playing in the English Conditions.How Dinesh Kartik fits to the playing eleven when M S Dhoni is around. Can you rely over the batting of Hardik Pandya ? He can play as a slogger or pinch hitter but can not build up innings ! This team has a 50-50 chance of winning against each team even can face defeat against minnows like Afghanistan.
