Dhoni is not above the game
by NAVRATAN PARAKH on Apr 12, 2019 07:51 PM

The way Dhoni reacted yesterday it looks like he thinks himself bigger than game and IPL/BCCI dose not have the guts to take proper disciplinery action against Dhoni. Had it been Ashwin/Shreyash/Kartick/Rahane or Bhuvi They would had been handed over an complete Ban but BCCI has left Dhoni. Even Dhoni should realise that What precedence he has set for the younger players in the country and also I think he must be handed an ban from playing IPL in the rest of this season.

It's very simple

1. The Umpire is human, not a robot, hence forgive him.

2. MSD is a robot, not a human, hence punish him.

Let the Umpires continue with their ridiculous stuff.

You are not above the game

It's high time people like Kohli and Dhoni realize that they are not above the game. Such arrogance and unsporting behaviour is a result of the governing body's way of having separate rules for different players. Nothing but a few match ban should be given for such behaviour. 50% fine is nothing for these millionaire players. Demeaning behaviour by the so called legends.

And you are fine with umpires continuing with their stupidity ??

What would you say, if India lost a free hit and the match in the last over of the World Cup after a howler like this ? Obviously, you are very understanding and generous person, and will surely forgive the umpire !!!

Let us assume ampires are the best judges and sometimes there can be some controversial decisions. But the teams need to live with it and on field open arguments cannot be justified whoever is doing it. It will kill the decipline of the game. Dhoni should set example to other players. He is at mistake.

Sporstman spirit my dear friend. No where in the world we have the perfect umpires. That doesn't mean you intrude the ground at every incorrect or unhappy decision from them. Fans like you embolden guys like Dhoni to think as if they are above everything. Have the guts to accept that what happened was wrong and was against the spirit of the game...

Nonsense. Lose the World Cup quietly because of umpiring stupidity and proudly display your sportsman spirit to the world.

I don't watch a match to see umpiring antics, I want a fair and square contest between 2 teams to determine the winner.

Dhoni incident felt like WWF
by Naresh Hingoranee on Apr 12, 2019 01:37 PM

Watching the final over yesterday and the walk in by Dhoni made the IPL tournament seem like WWF wrestling match! So both Dhoni & Kohli have got by with bad leadership just because of their celebrity status; imagine if it was a Dinesh Kartik or a Ajinkya Rahane instead.

Big Stars always protected by BCCI
by Arun Srivastava on Apr 12, 2019 01:10 PM

Dhoni has always been protected by BCCI first in CSK IPL spot fixing case and now. Recently, Virat Kohli also abused match referee after loosing IPL match. This matter was suppressed by BCCI and he escaped punishment.

What a joke...
by Achyut Bhardwaj on Apr 12, 2019 12:43 PM

He has literally got away with murder... 50% of the match fee for acting in such an arrogant, thoughtless manner... used to have a lot of respect for him but he has let down a lot of his fans...

Mahi was / is lucky
by SR Hari on Apr 12, 2019 11:18 AM

I am die-hard fan of Mahi.... always liked the manner in which he plays the game, leads the team, mentors people like Virat, Rohit from behind the stumps.... I was watching the game when the incident happened.... certainly, the straight umpire Gandhe almost immediately after the ball reached the batsman raised his right hand indicating it's a no ball..... Jaddu and Santner ran the couple keeping in mind the "no ball"..... Don't know whether the other field umpire, Oxenford, can over rule his on field colleague's decision just like that..... as such it's the call of the leg umpire but the straight umpire immediately reacted.... if in doubt, they could have gone upstairs...

Coming to Mahi: Never ever saw him so angry... even when he lost matches, he used to be very polished in pulling up his own team mates... even I was shocked to see him stepping on to the field.... he is definitely lucky for having got away with just the fine, though 50% of his fees... Probably, his previous record / behavior would have prompted the Match referee to just slap the fine on him...

But what penalty to the umpire who created the confusion? We could see the man terribly shaken.... not even a word from him / on his behalf..?????
