Agreed. Previously we witnessed quality bowlers like Walsh, Amborse, Lee, Akhtar, Waqar, Akram, Bond, Donald, Warne, Murali and many others... Gavaskar era had Marshall, Holding, Thomson, and many greats... Current quality outfit is not there barring 2-3 bowlers... How can this be best team travelling !! No way... But yes, our bowling has been good.
Ashwin is always unfairly treated by the Coach,Captai and even the media.Ashwin needs care and encouragement and should not be demoralised and wasted.Urgent need to induct Mayank Agarwal/Prithvi Shaw in the opening slot and develop Hanuma Vihari/Karun Nair.Murali Vijay needs another chance.Bring back Kumble and we will win abroad!!
Ashwin started with a bang and in the second test he was the top scorer in both the innings and in the third test he just bowled one over in the entire test and in the fourth test he could not take wickets which is the only test where he could not contribute in spite of bowling long overs but he played a eventful knock to create a flutter in english side. He single handedly almost won the first test for india by removing the top order of England.

I don't know why Ashwin is always unfairly treated by the media. The man has picked up 327 wkts in only 62 tests which is second only to the legendary Murali amongst spinners who have picked up more than 300 wickets. Ashwin is a jewel of India who should be handled properly with care and encouragement and not be demoralised and wasted.

Ashwin is never treated badly. Only thing is that if you don't give good output to your office you will not be in the good book of your Boss. In fact Ravi Shastri & Virat Kohli went on playing him in pace friendly wicket & he didn't yield any result. In a spin friendly wicket where Moin Ali became successful I was surprised to see our world beater in home soil failed badly. So what do you think theMedia will give him"Inam".
