It could be you Ms. Mehta!!!! I have admired your comments here and almost all of them have hit the nail everytime but for this one. India are no.1 just because of their homesoil endeavours over a span of 2 years starting afer 2013 WC. Taking into account the larger than deserved stature they have got for their home pitches be it Internationals or IPLs, where would they have been if you discount those performances OR RATHER, if the assessment would have been on the overseas tours?
What's more irritating is that we make a mount of the moles (Hanuman of humans) by seeing them perform on kabaddi claycourt pitches back home. We will forget all the agony of those sorry faces and shredded hearts of the supporting audiences of SA & England tours, once they start blind hittings in Asia Cup.
This time around we had the bowling to support the much famed batting....but, same old nonsense from our batsmen and team selectors.
It was clear with the batsmen that their hangover of IPL heroism was still not over.
If they won't ascertain their heroism against OZ, SA or Eng then my foot for their batting of SL, Bgd or WI

Fake number one. Australia and West Indies of previous decades were true number one. They used to win in overseas easily

Shilpa Mehta, you cant understand because your top floor is as empty as Shastri's. They need a woman coach like you who can entertain them like Shastri in dressing room.

Under Dravid-India won a test series against WI (that was a pretty good WI side) in WI, Won a series in ENG
Under MSD- India won Test series in NZ, Drew level in SA
And Shastri after winning series against SL & WI who does not even know how to play Test cricket is calling this team great? He is making a mockery of his own reputation (if anything left)

you are right shastri....in the last couple of decades we have certainly did better than what we used to do earlier...
yes ganguly had a good team...and the current team built up from scratch by dhoni is also good..
most fans here are blind and cant see...thats how it is always...some people understand early some people understand late...you and i are among the ones who understand fast...others are slow to learn but they will understand too sooner or later....

as an away coach shastri has a record which will take some beating...when we visited SL under captain kohli and coach shastri first time in history india won all the tests all the odis and all the t20s in that series...
we have the test series 3-0 won the odi series 5-0 and also the lone t20 match...
and the team was built from scratch by dhoni after the retirement of older generation legends...
like i said not everyone can understand or at least as fast as some of us...

True but have you taken into consideration that this SL team is not even a shadow of SL team on late nineties? Don't post without logic. Had this Indian team faced that SL team, they would have been blown away. This guys can't even face Moeen Ali, and you think thay they would have scored scored against all time best off spinner Murali?
Whatever he is speaking about the current team then i fill he should immediately be Sack at Head coach.This current team is no where as compered to the past Indian Team. He is justifying his own views which is baseless. The result he had Shown in this series is below par and the Board should take positive measures to make correct decision . He is got the job because of his influence in BCCI. Sack him immediately why spending so much money on him.
