GOOD, IT LOOKS GOING TO BE A COMPETITIVE SERIES.
by damodaran mohan on Oct 25, 2018 05:58 PM

It is evident from the tied game at Vishaka that in shorter formats even the depleted WI side is not going to be any easy push overs. In fact full strength WI will be a strong contenders for WC along with India ,ENG ,Pak and SA.The tie in a way was a poetic justice for WI who should have won it comfortably. Hetmyer getting out was the major turning point who looking like the next Brian Lara of WI who took away the game in the middle overs and could have easily finished it with overs to spare. The centurion Hope too looks promising and given these talents India can't take WI easy in the series. While Virat's decision of batting first was definitely wrong the below par pace attack added to the problem.Spinners still bowled well under difficult conditions but were not successful in controlling the middle overs.Lesson learnt? While it is difficult to control P1 as a bowling with profligate pacers attack due to the new field restrictions rules but the middle overs have got to be controlled at all costs followed by some good death bowling, batting first. On the other hand the batting unit has to get better of bowling in the middle overs while chasing as WI did at Vishka.

Windies still a long long way to go
by Jayaprakash Balan on Oct 25, 2018 11:32 AM  | Hide replies

Windies still a long long way to go before it comes to the level of international cricket. And unless and until there are consistent all round performance from team in terms of batting, bowling and fielding, it can never improve the level of its cricket. Sure, there are good youngsters in the team but they have to improve a lot lot to come to the level of Indian team. All are youngsters but they lack total energy, body language and fighting spririt. They get so tired easily and we were wondering how those legends of Windies used to continuously bowl excellently in those days when it was only test matches. So, any one tie or win against India or any team can never make Windies a force to reckon with in cricket world.

Jayprakash, i think you mistaken the word. Just put the Indies instead of windies where you started your paragraph. coz if you can't win on home ground
