Very pertinent point has been raised by the famous wicket keeper Sayeed Kirmani. The quality of selection is laughable. Who they can dream to utter the truth in front of Rabi shashtri, Dhoni, Virat kohole. In fact, they are dictating selection board members. Had there been personalities like Kapil deb, mohindeer amarnath, sachin tendulker, sourav ganguly these bunch of oldies of the present team would dare to open their mouth.
He had said the same comment when Dhoni made debu… Dhoni did not care.. now we all know what Dhoni did.. similarlt Rishab need not bother … tehre is nothing to learn from this old player who himself was average.. but very lucky..

Kirmani was one of the worst ever cricketer produced by India. He was hopeless as a selector too. He along with Greg Chappel destroyed Indian cricket

kirmani was not responsible for greg chappell as indian coach...that happened only because of ganugulys insistence
kirmani is a fool and in love with himself...he thinks he is india's finest wk till date...he is living in a fools paradise...there are many better wk batsmen than him who have played tests...his record both as a wk and batsmen is poor than both dhoni and pant in tests as well as first class cricket...
even his contemporary cricketers do not regard him well...he many have been good wk batsman in those days when indias wk batsmen were not too good anyway...but those days are far behind...
he used to talk foul of even his contemporary players...and used bad language with them and used to spread canards about them...

Aptly written. Its sheer jealousy. Pant is by far the best compared to Saha, Patel, or Kartik. Pant has claimed 5 catches/stumpings in his very first innings as keeper.

@sougata gupta: I would beg to differ, if you judge by WK skills only then Saha is presently best in the world
Surprised to see the list of selection panel, most of them are unheard names, their role is just like rubber stamps. Wonder weather this panel is there only for names sake and presume the decision makers are the chief coach and the Captain. Only request to Rishab Pant is to take the tips given by the legend seriously and try to improve your wicket keeping. Mr. Kirmani kept the wickets when the best spinners of all times were around and nobody else can give a better advice than him. Rest of the things Kirmani said are also true, but it is unfortunate that nothing can be done about it. I always felt Kapil Dev should have done much better than Ravi Shastri in the role as chief coach.

This is the effect of the supreme court. Because of the 'conflict of interest', none of the big players can become selectors. To be selectors they have to let go of crores of rupees in commentary, broadcasting, coaching and even their own academies. So, nobody is interested.
That leaves only the domestic coaches like MSK prasad who are interested in being selectors.
