Opportunity to Karun Nair in Indian Team
by Devindra Amla on Oct 02, 2018 11:21 AM  | Hide replies

Very unfortunate that a talented capable player is ignored by selectors and team management including team manager and captain.
Rahane and Dhawan performance is worst in recent time in test cricket but still were given chances.
Its unjustis with Karun Nair and other promising players like Jadeja.

Now Competition is very tough. Once get into Indian XI, one has to keep on scoring. One failure, they will land into domestic XI.

Thanks to IPL opportunities.
by Jayaprakash on Oct 02, 2018 08:39 AM

Most of these eligible players who are denied chances in the national team are surving only because of IPL opportunities. End of the day one has to earn some money for their livelihood after devoting their full time playing/practicing cricket.

He is now aged 26 and when he is going to get a chance?
by Jayaprakash on Oct 02, 2018 08:14 AM

There are many more players left out from by the selectiion committe or not given a chance to play even in a match, but why only such detailed statement of explanation about not giving him any chances ? It is due to guilty consciousness? He is one among the very few players in world cricket who made a thriple century. Atleast should have given him a chance to play in the last test in England which was insignificant since the series was already lost. If the team management claims that they chose the best playing eleven for the tests, then how come we lost 4 out of 5 tests and how it can be justified for not giving eligible players like Karun Nair atleast a single chance ? He is now aged 26 and after the prime time is over what is the point in getting a chance. Really feel bad about such talented players missing opportunities.

He is so impressive, gutsy, reminds me of the hard and tough guys like Pravin Amre, and Yashpal, and Amarnath. He will make a strong comeback like Laxman.
Take your time Karun, you are destined for higher accolades. These sellectors are indeed cruel and disgusting and deserve sacking.

Dropping Of Nair
by subhendu chakravarty on Oct 01, 2018 11:48 PM  | Hide replies

It is very easy to answer the reason for dropping Nair. The selectors together have played and contributed how much to Indian Cricket. So, what is their credential as selectors. Also there is fear that should he be included, he might get again a triple thereby causing loss of position of famed and presently decaying player(s).

Karun Nair

It is sad that a triple-centurion like Karun Nair gets dropped without getting a chance in five test matches in England and no logical reason given by the authorities. At the same time repeated failures like Dhawan, Rahul, Vijay, Rahane, etc. were given several opportunities. I think the COA and BCCI should sack the selectors ( none of them have much experience at the highest level) and Ravi Shastri and pull up Virat Kohli to be more practical in team selection
