I kinda agree with Mohammad Azharuddin’s opinion that MSD should retire and make way for Pant for next world cup. It was Dhoni who made Dada, Gambhir, Sehwag, Sachin etc. retire from ODI’s due to fitness and old age issue. Though I agree that MSD is still very fit, but nobody can deny the fact that he is the weak link in already fragile Indian middle order. A small stat- 2007-2008, when Sourav Ganguly made 1240 runs in 30 innings at an avg of 44.29, strike rate of 73.03, was deemed unfit to play for Indian team as he was 35 yrs. by MSD, then. & now Dhoni in 2018, 12 innings, 252 runs at an avg of 25.29, strike rate of 68.11 at the age of around 37 and still playing!! Is it not double standard? Can Dhoni’s fans justify this please? Please don’t bring up the fact that he guides the team, BCCI already paying Shastri fat pay for doing this only.

It is true what you have said. When Ganguly playing he is older age and unfit. Where is Dhoni is 37 years is not older age and he is fit. As compared to Ganguly dhoni is nothing because he made century in foreign pitches and Dhoni is not made single century in foreign pitches. Dhoni brought world cup by fixing and he is not so great like shewag and Ganguly. It is overrated by BCCI. Dhoni should retire before world cup 2019
