Story of Punjab easily must be the saddest story of IPL.A typical Chris Gayle like innings of starting with a bang and ending in a whimper.Now I wonder how they manged the first 5 wins, which perhaps coincided with Gayle doing well.Mostly it were two men show of Rahul and Mujib.Ashwin bowled better towards the end phase.Punjab batting was simply atrocious with zero consistency and they couldn't get right batting combination. Ashwin though started well with some of his captaincy moves in the first half but he made mistakes in bowling changes in the 2nd half especially in the the penultimate match against MI which cost them the play-offs place.Team as such looks good but they should not hesitate to drop CG when he fails repeatedly.The pacers--Rajput and Mohit were on fire in their last match against CSK bowling unplayable deliveries.If only they had bowled half as well in earlier matches, Punjab would have been in the play offs.I still can't believe Punjab missed playoffs!
