Smith and Warner have been made scapegoats for an act that has been going on throughout cricketing history, and there are cricketing legends too who were part of these acts in the past.
CA is now showing it's fangs as a business house and definitely not a sports body. By handing out just a 12 month ban these 2 will miss just a few series and CA can then start earning from their heroics next year.
All three involved in this scam need to be given life bans. At least then upcoming cricketers will have some hope for the future of cricket in Australia.
My candid view is that ball tampering has always existed to different degrees at all times. One remembers the defeat of Australia by Pakistan when Australia which was cruising to a win, suffered a dramatic collapse after tea when Sarfraz nawaz reversed the ball like a banana. This continued for years until the rest of the world caught up with Pakistan. But over the years, rules have become stringent and cameras sharper. Therefore, what Smith and company did was silly. A one year ban seems just right....it sends the right message while not victimising the players.

Cricket Australia is just doing the right noises to show the world that they have taken action. The actions are pathetic to say the least from both ICC & CA. Everyone knew the dirty trick , being played since a long time, but as the saying goes, you can do it until you are caught, that same adage sticks on all the 3 guys. Just trying to hoodwink the world, by showing action has been taken.Shame on the Australians & their board & ICC in particular.
is winning is so important, More important than ones own Country. Sports has lost its sportsmanship. It seems there is no petroitism amongst players, only money that matters. Shame on Smith and party.
