Kane is definitely very knowledgeable but there may be other views on who was the best NZ bat ever! Having seen their batsmen from the time their team toured in 1955(?) let me lay claim to aver that there has never been a better Kiwi batsman than Bert Sutcliff, though some may rate John Reid equally.
