Though Dhoni has earned every rupee with the help of his talent and abilities. And his earnings are also in the public domain. But how come he has paid 12 crore as tax on roughly 64 crores of declared taxable income?

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he is taking the advertising and non-cricket salary earnings in a company he has formed. He might be paying corporate tax there which is not included in his personal income tax. Lot of expenses like travel, hotel stay, driver salary, car depreciation, etc can be deducted in the income he receives in the company. Also since it has turnover below 50 crore, his corporate tax would be 25% as opposed to 34% if he were to pay as an individual in highest tax slab.

The person who earn Income must have taken advice of an eminent Tax Consultant and must have paid tax considering all eleigible ductions and exemptions. The Income shown by him in his personal capacity and we must respect him for the amount of tax paid by him. No one can question about the basis on which tax paid by him.

Someone paying taxes to the govt is just a private affair. The media should not divulge these details to the public and create distractions in the minds of performers to the nation like our former Indian cricket caotain.
Is it really necessary to reveal such figures by the IT department. It creates more jealousy and the evil minds start working I feel this kind of items can be avoided
