dhoni is only interested in IPL.like a smart guy he comes down at no 6 .here either the top 5 batsmen have already won the game and he has to hit a few shots or top 5 batsmen have lost the game;so dhoni at no 6 cannot do much with high run-rate. dhoni should bat no 4 like a senior batsman

I have great respect for Dhoni. But I feel his approach this time in the second ODI was not appropriate. We are not demanding him to win the game single handedly, but even with Panday at the other end there was no intent from his side. In case he was the captain, I dont think he might have gave up like that as the way he did it. Indian supporters pay and attend the match not to witness India meekly surrendering to the opposition, but to give the team support even where they are in a difficult situation. I rememeber Dhoni single handedly won a difficult match in Australia when India was nine wickets down even without taking singles in order to avoid exposing the other batsman, I think it was Ishant sharma. This time I think there were three tail enders after Pandya left and I think even Raina was there when he came to the crease. He was not playing shots from the beginning itself. As the senior most in the team, there was no communication from him to the batsman at the other end. Most probably Kohlis remarks in favour of Dhoni was to avoid any conflict and he might have suppressed his emotions and talked in favour of Dhoni and it might have been just the opposite feeling in his mind. Of late Dhoni is not doing much of a finishers role since others in top order are finishing the game even before his batting turn comes. There is something wrong somewhere and we do not know what is happening in the dressing room.

Once again a similar innings by Dhoni in the third ODI as well. Since it was not a chasing match nobody bothered much about his yet another test match like innings.

He wasn't even attempting to keep the strike. Wasn't even attempting to score in ones and twos. Wasn't even aiming for 6 runs per over.
Either it was a case of BCCI-ECB board-level match-fixing to retain spectator interest in the series, or it was a case of Dhoni sulking at someone or something.
In any case, this is at least the second time in his career that Dhoni has done this.
He must go.
There are exciting young candidates to take over his place.
Deliberately dumping negativity is highly inexcusable.

Yes Its true that he was a great finisher but not now...And if I remember well, when seniors during his captaincy were not playing well, he had criticized them and now he is on the same page. Better to give opportunity to some younger guy like Pant/Sanju etc.
Expecting Dhoni as Superman when fails he is being criticized. What was the contribution of recognized batsmen. How can one expect that Dhoni could take risk when the left out batsmen could bat along. Had Aswin,Jadeja and Bhuvi/Shardul Takkur were the left out batsmen, at least he could have tried - otherwise at least one batsman should have stood for long so that Dhoni could have performed. All Bowlers have given away more runs and except Kuldeep other bowlers failed totally in this game.

Dhoni was a great cricketer and a good finisher in one dayers. He has left his best years behind and riding on his past laurels. No one can overcome age. His reflex and bat speed is diminishing but somehow hes managing to stay in the team by being in good books of Shastri & Kohli.

can be good cheque books can be maintaining personal rapport with them who knows. Bottom line is he should make way and exit gracefully
