Not that India has not been whitewashed 4-0,5-0..on overseas tours before. In fact we have been taking it in stride given our limitations in not just in the all three areas of B-B-F but also our inability to adapt to alien conditions. But this time around the 3-0 whitewash looming large somehow there is that feeling of bad taste in the mouth of being let down by a No1 Test side even with a bowling attack that has taken 20 wkts not once but twice! So what should our cricketers do and how should they approach to prevent the ultimate humiliation? First question--why is that the intensity and commitment level in the field seen in likes of ABD, Morkel… looks missing in our cricketers the way not just they spill catches but are seen lackadaisical in doing basic things right? Look at the unprofessional way Pandya strolls to complete his run or Pujara wilts under pressure to run himself out in both innings! Why do our famed batsmen line up except Virat Kohli wilt under severe pressure so easily hardly looking mentally equipped to face the bowling? Why are they not able to play freely with confidence, especially the openers? What is the support staff headed by Ravi Shastri pocketing heaviest pay cheques on earth doing ? Why are they not able to sort out these basic issues and straighten the kinks ? In fact even Virat seems to be getting out lbw plumb in front of wkt in similar fashion repeatedly moving across to in-coming deliveries. What is Shastri & co. doing in SA?
