The 2-0 series loss indeed comes as a a real dampener over the heightened expectations of a likely turnaround of overseas India series win.While the pace bowling attack indeed have met expectations of taking 20 wkts in both Tests it is the batting considered the strength of the No.1 Test side which has been a big let down.In a way the past myth that India with a 20 wkt taking ability bowling attack could win series overseas is broken.The inadequacy of our batsmen to adapt to the conditions is glaring with then exception of Virat Kohli who does look 1st rate able to adapt and play under changing & challenging conditions.The rest ...Vijay..Rahul..Dhawan..Pujara. ...Rohit look 2nd rate neither having the mental toughness nor the technical finess to adjust and adapt to these challenging conditions and hardly look comparable to our earlier generation batters like say gavaskar..sachin..Sehwag..saurav ..dravid..laxman etc.So it is virtually one man army of Virat when it comes to batting and will take time for others to measure up to the task with confidence level totally missing(except Virat) looking like lambs on a chopping block.How can they make runs with such mental make up w/o playing freely?Next, the fielding and catching--the intensity, the commitment level etc. too leaves lot to be desired.The team management certainly have a job in hand for the touring side to make a match of it.
