though ganguly is angry with chappell actually chappell proved good for indian cricket...it was because of him new blood was encouraged given chances and allowed to grow in experience...except the WC we enjoyed good success under Chappell reign as a coach...it was because of his work that we later became no. 1 in all formats of the game....

Veda Vaidya, if you dont know anything about cricket, stop exposing your stupidity. only idiots like you can support Greg Chappel and his working as Manager of Indian team.
Chew and spit whenever required - that what greg wanted to do with dada!! But poor monkey, didn't knew that never to mess with a Royal Bengal Tiger - they chew but don't spit back - it only comes out as residue next day!! Hahaha!! Dada you are great - we love you for what you are!!

He showed the whites that India is no longer their slaves but when a white coach who he himself recommended back stabbed him then there is no wonder that Ganguly lost form and his place in the team because of the turmoil going in his mind. If not for Chappel, India could have won many more matches oversees. The whites can not tolerate the domination of blacks or browns. Fortunately, Dhoni too carried forward the legacy of Ganguly and never bogged down before these whites. Kohli too is in the same mold. This aggressiveness and the hunger to win come what may was first induced by Ganguly and carried forward by others who followed him. Indian cricket should always be indebted to Ganguly. Before Ganguly if an Indian team came closed to beat an opponent then the media, the former cricketers and the cricket fans used to praise the team saying that they at-least gave a good fight. But after Ganguly era the mindset has changed completely, now the media, the former cricketers, the cricket loving public, criticize if India lost the match even after giving close fight. This is huge change in the mindset. the mindset now is come what may, whatever may be the conditions, India must win. Thanks to Ganguly then Dhoni and currently Kohli, Indian cricket team is making wining as its habit.

all points agreed.. but it was time for him to quit and when others were unwilling to take up the challenge of dropping himm only Greg chappel showed the mettel..
Ganguly did well as a captain and player,.. but his form dropped so badly that he had to be dropped.. If not for Chappel no one dared drop him.. as in India they go by stardom rather than on current form.. he deserved to be dropped.. only Chappel dared..

blind followers. there was hartal and protests in Kolkatta when he was dropped.. he could not play properly.. every one knows that.. what a Indian could not do Greg did it.. he was right..
Gangly proved beyond doubt that India could win series in away soils as well that too convincing wins. A bold leader he knew how to spot talents and nurture them. Probably the biggest mistake was supporting Greg Chappell as Indian coach during his tenure. This move back fired. Certainly Dada deserved more credits as he has led by example unlike certain skippers. Hope his services would be available to the future Indian cricket in one form or other.

I loved watching ganguly when he was in full flow. Even if there were 6 to 7 players in off side, he used to bisect them and get boundaries at will. I am Still a fan of him.
