Rishabh will definitely be a good opener along with the poor Prithvi. Mayank has arrived. It is time these fellows are sent up the order and make the middle order invincible as per experience. It is true that the articulate Sir Gavaskar is still the greatest test batsman of all times. Ajinkya could have been the better choice a opener. Rahul would after some time lapse would be in the Indian eleven . We have it in galore. Yhe only concern is the bench strength in fast bowling department. There is nobody in eh domestic circuit. Kamlesh Nagakotti needs to be fast tracked. An excellent athlete with sheer pace.

After Sir Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag has been the best opener for India. He used to play with the field. If the fielders are spread out, he would deal in singles and doubles and if otherwise, he used to slaughter the bowlers. A real treat to watch. Rishabh all the traits to become the next Sehwag but he needs to be judicious as Sehwag used to be while attacking. Now Rishabh in his complacency or over confidence attacks every ball even when the fielders are stationed specifically for him. He falls to the bait. Needs to curtail that and then he would rewrite history.
Pls do not assume things and keep on chanting about like Rahul Gandhi(since u compared Kohli with Modi). There is nothing called Bombay wala club, guys in the team have seen enough of clubs and groups before playing at this level. It's not sensible to sow the seed of favoritism in our Indian team. And yes all captains have a set of favourite players which is perfectly fine as long as they are performing and helping us win games, but its absolutely wrong to say that favourite players are above the teams winning criteria. Especially what we have seen of Kohli as a kind of person who hates to loose and give up. Stay positive and keep supporting team India.

dude, don't be naive. This is two birds with one stone from the bombay brigade. First get rid of vihari in competitor for the no.6 spot for rohit from the middle order, and second if vihari fails in the opening slot then get him dropped. This has happened before. The best example is our chief selector MSK Prasad who was made to open the innings in australia and when he did not perform was dropped from the team and never played again. This is standard bambaiyya tactics.
Such a strong opinion(s) come on lets not compare players with each other. All are good and have proven at sometime that's why part of the playing 11. Lets assume if Vihari had scored a century today as an opener then probably this article would have never been written, also look at it as Viharis golden opportunity of life. Don't be negative about everything. Good luck team India
Why can we not play Parthiv Patel as opener and wicketkeeper with Mayank Aggarwal.Vihari can come in at his own position and failed Rohit Sharma sits out.Parthiv is part of the test team and he has experience of test opener.
