Absolutely. Not only an intelligent captain to lead India but was an excellent batsman who faced all kinds of bowling very successfully. He guided India in those special test victory at West indies & England. He really needs a special salute.
My association with Ajit Wadekar dates back to more than two decades. A fine gentleman! Quiet! Friendly! We were associated in respect of Cricket for the Disabled. He was the founder of the All India Cricket Association. We, in Chhattisgarh, apart from Mumbai and Vidarbha, were very active. Wadekar had a great love for Chhattisgarh. He had visited Bhilai twice in connection with the the staging of the tournament for the Disabled. He has done so much for the physically handicapped! I salute this great individual! I pray for peace for the soul that Ajit Wadekar was!
