Today's "English conditions" never existed before.
That is why players like Gavaskar (made double century), Kapil Dev (175 n.o.), Vengsarkar, Dravid (Test debut), Ganguly (Test debut), Ashwin (scored century in earlier England tour) shone so well, and Indian team never fared so horribly all these decades.
These "Unfavorable English conditions" mysteriously got created for this series.
And what is more sinister is that the "Unfavorable English Conditions" do not seem to give any advantage to Indian bowlers, or trouble to English batsmen.
Moreover, these English conditions will continue to remain mysterious and unfavorable all through the series, to the Indian team.
The "Unfavorable English Conditions" are so unbearable that the Indian players are tormented by them even between matches -- so much so that they were forced to escape on a 5-day holiday to Europe between matches.
Do you have anyone like Rahul Dravid, Sanjay Manjrekar, Chateswar Pujara who will the china wall against their firenges ? the team we have are more specialized in T20, or one-day. When will Kohli and team understand that a test match is test for temparement, not a case of winning by score
The BCCI and the team management should really think to take back the contracts offered to them (nonperformers like Murali Vijay, Shikar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Rahane, and Dinesh Karthik).
Please blood in youngsters like Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill and Rishab Pant.....
Dinesh Karthik ( instead of KL Rahul, he has failed enough ) Murali Vijay ( deserves at least one more chance ) Cheteswar Pujara ( no option but to give him another chance ) Kohli Rahane Pant Ashwin Ishant Shami Bumrah ( I think he will be fit then ) Kuldeepu
Kuldeep did not impress but you can't blame bowlers when batsmen are incapable of getting a total to defend.

Anna, even your CSK team didnt give enough chance to Murali Vijay, then why he should be given chances in team India to fail again and again?

Murali Vijay, Dinesh Karthik, Cheteshwar Pujara & KL Rahul should be left out with replacements from Rishab Pant, Karun Nair, Shikhar Dhawan & Jadeja.

Dhawan ??! - He is not a Test player at all. I can agree to Karun being given a chance. Pant - I have put his name on the list. Jaddu - he is not a very attacking bowler, his success in Tests is mainly by bowling long economical spells and tying up one and sometimes batsmen go after him and make mistakes. We cannot afford that approach. That is why I have persisted with Kuldeep.Murali Vijay is agreeably in poor form but given his past records he deserves at least one more chance. Likewise Pujara. Karthik did not do badly as a wicket keeper though as a batsman he did not contribute. He too deserves one more chance.
Nothing is to be worried if India looses 5-0. England team faces same fate when playing in India. Always the pitches are made to suit the home teams. What ever it may be, but Shastri is enjoying the England's whine.
When batting fails,Bangar is blamed. If bowlers do not perform the bowling coach is held responsible. What is the role of Shastri? Is it only to keep Virat in good humour. The MET forecast had predicted rain then why didnt Coach and Captain go for Umesh instead of Kuldeep? Why didnt the team play more first class matches with red ball before first test at Edgbaston?
