As expected Virat played one of his best ever innings to put India back into contention. Now India and England are on equal terms and either side can win.Whosoever wins to-day's 1st session will forge ahead and India being the bowling side certainly have the advantage with english batting under pressure. Virat after his brilliant innings must not allow this advantage to slip out of his hands by correcting few of his questionable decisions on bowling changes and field set ups on the 1st day post lunch.Ashwin must be bowled long spell 15-20 overs from one suitable end to create pressure and pacers with Shami & others can be rotated at the other end.An attacking field right from the first ball till end as seen in Ashes tests often have to be resorted to. Hardik was made to bowl with defensive field leading to many catches going abegging virtually demoralizing him in his 2nd spell who otherwise bowled well in the first spell. If only Jadeja had been there this english side would fold up under 200 if only Root can be dismissed cheaply. On Indian batting , unless they perfect their defense they just can't survive on these conditions of 'moving ball'.Moreover rash shots by likes of Rahul and Rahane totally unacceptable. Dhawan too needs to be careful in driving and may be he should hold his bat a bit higher to make the point of contact higher.DK was unlucky to get a gem of a ball but he has to tidy up his defense and not allow that gaping hole.
India were lucky to come so close thanks to those butter fingers of Malan. Otherwise it should have been less than 125 & England would have secured a huge advantage. But remember the English batsmen would be much better in the second innings as conditions have improved & the Indian bowling is looking unpenetrative.
