Agree. Screening movies should be the first to be stopped for protests as ts they are nothing more than entertainment unlike sports which is also part of health and fitness. Govt should ban screening moving during any and every kind of protests like they close schools and collages for safety so that people including students are at home instead of theater which is not any safer than school.
The author of this article is very cynical. Modi Government has failed in respecting Supreme Court Order and failed to establish Cauvery Management Board.
Any amount of support from Hindi chauvinistic media cannot stop the agitation against Central Government.

Saying that Cauvery lost out to cricket is a very chauvinistic interpretation by vested interests. I am no great fan of cricket, but the facts stare in the face. 1. This problem has persisted for decades. 2. The actors who are trying to profit from the situation did not stop their films from being screened. 3. Did any of the politicians involved postpone their functions at home? 4. Did they stop the Sand Mafia ?/ This is also a cause for water shortage.... Karnataka playing rough is another reason. 5. Of late in TN, everything possible is being done against Central Government under the guise of "federalism".!!

in year 1999 world cup whole india lost to cricket , when media and indians were busy seeing world cup matches in 1999 and no news of our soldiers fighting at kargil war , for indians enternatainment and personal interest comes first not nation, cauvery is small issue in front of it

Just To add on it we even saw match fixing cases whithin 1 year in 2000 to proove that indians are also foolish

What is your logic? People like you are easily taken for ride by the politicians. We cannot be a single issue country. When America can fights wars at multiple fronts iraq, Afghan Syria.. they donât stop playing all the hundred leagues they have like nfl, mlb etc
