There is nothing great in this gesture. This amount was not hard earned money but got as a gift from tax payers money without any work.

Why to Rajya Sabha Fund "Gp Captain Sachin"? So that they further subsidise the Canteen Items.
Why not to some needy Sport Persons or National defence Fund?

Nice Gesture

It is indeed a good gesture. Hope all the other law makers also do this. Many of these members are crorepatis, as declared in their election affidavits. They should consider donating a part of the allowances, atleast for the days when no business was transacted due to disruptions in the house.

good gesture

It requires a big heart to donate such amount of money, however rich you are. I hope other MPs too follow his footstep. Tendulkar might have earned a lot through contracts and other means during his tenure and also he is entitled to a life long pension but still as it is said that something is better than nothing, all the other MPs too donate their salaries to PM fund at the time of their retirement.
