Yes RAHANE can never feature in the full time ODI team. He should be only looked up as a dependable stop gap who will perform hopefully

Rahane is an average player always flatters to deceive...he has been given enough chances for long term prospects KL Rahul should be the opted choice.Rahane is only good against countries like WI,BD,ZIM,and SL when he is faced with quality fast bowling he always turns out to be a pappu.

I think They should drop Rohit & Ask Rahabe to open. When Dhawan comes back, it will be a nice combination. Though, undoubtedly Rohit has played few big innings, his consistency is a real problem.

Having played 80 Matches and scored 2583 Runs at an average of 33.98 with Strike Rate hovering around 78.15, Rahane neither deserves a chance in the top 4 nor its wise to continue experimenting with him. Let him be a regular feature in Tests just as CHETESHWAR PUJARA.
In the first place, when it was known that Dhawan wont play, Rohit Sharma had no business to say Ajinkya will be opening with me. I strongly believe, Rohit Sharma himself is not an automatic Choice! For reasons best known to selectors & team management, he finds a place regularly and after 20 innings scores big and booked for next 20 matches! Rahul must be definitely playing in place of Ajinkya Rahane & Manish must be given the confidence to play his game. I wish Saurav or MSD should be there to mentally prepare these youngsters. I also feel, Raina can be given a couple of more chances. He can take away the game from opposition any time, either with batting or bowling or fielding!

Rahual must open with rohit.the confusion is between manish pandey & rahene,i think rahene is better option in place of manish pandey.

I think, Manish Pandey has to be given few chancs to settle down. We have had a long rope for Rohit.
