Kohli made 226 runs in 11 innings vs substandard Australian bowlers in India this year.... n u r comparing him with legend SACHIN.. kohli made 139 runs in 10 innings in England: )

It will be interesting to know how many of these centuries were on our own soil and against mediorce tesms like Sri Lanka and New Zealand
No doubt he is a good player, but most of his centuries (19) scored in India, Bangladesh or Srilanka. These countries are known for producing batting friendly flat pitches and also the bowlers he is facing now are not world class bowlers.

True. No doubt he is an extremely talented cricketer which we must be proved off! However, just to show their ability to write, most of these writers give you lame statistics like most for a batsmen coming before no.3 / after number 3!! One thing we comfortably forget is there are other players like AMLA who is faster to 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 & 6000 than Virat! Also, there are cricketers from England & SA who have better averages than our cricketers! I think these people should give us credible records rather than giving us some skewed statistics. But, there is nothing to take out of our cricketers achievement: Sachin, Virat, MSD , Saurav....and off course others.. This is only to talk about headline monging writers!

Heading is given as Indian Batsman. Not world batsman. So other country players cannot be listed

Please check how many 100s has Sachin scored in ODIs outside of the Indian sub continent and Sharjah? You will be surprised this it is on the same lines as Virat...In fact Virat has more 100s in Aus in ODIs - Sachin has 1 there!

Can we now name top 10 quality bowlers from all the teams ?. It is very difficult as we may not even get 5 world class bowlers now. But earlier we had Wasim, Waqar, McGrath, Warne, Murali, Donald, Vaas, Saqlain and many more world class bowlers. Also the pitches on which these people play are all batting flat pitches.

How many of these stayed on after 2003? Agreed they are flat pitches but even when Sachin played they were all flat pitches in Asia. I know it's become a batsman's game increasingly in ODIs. You need to still give the due credit...playing in tense chasing situation too this guy has scored 19 hundreds. Sachin had scored many 100s (I think 5 v Ken and 1 v Namibia, etc.) They were complete minnows. I don't like comparing across ages. But sheer numbers, Virat has it. Not many in today's cricket can have this big an average.
