Yes, Ravi-Virat combo's experimentation towards preparations for 2019 WC are paying off as far as the bowling is concerned but let there be no doubt that the Indian batting ---neither the individuals nor the batting orders ,opening or m.o instills much confidence for any WC event.May be against the Kiwis still India might be the favorites but nothing more.Take Rohit Sharma , he has been a big let down in crunch matches as in CT final against Pak.For me he is not at all dependable at opening, may be he should come at no.6.Dhawan too is vulnerable to good quality pace and swing bowling needing one or two lives before crossing 20-30s.Ajinke Rahane?I think Virat should open the innings in both the shorter formats as the right replacement for Sachin. As far as m.o less said the better as Raina is being missed very badly.Raina should come at No3 and a dependable No4 is yet to be identified from among Manish Pandy,Kedar jadhav,D.Kartik,KL Rahul etc.The No.5 has to be Dhoni who, in spite of best w/keeping is more of a lottery when it comes to batting. We don't know which Dhoni takes to the crease on a given day!No6.has to be Rohit to make some quick runs.No7 Pandya.Frankly the Indian batting is still in a state of flux.TO me 2019 WC looks a distant dream.
