Bhaskar, dont agree with you. In today'a world all has averages of 50 . Earlier it was 35-40 was a good indications. I definitely feel quality of bowling has taken a dip. Both of them are good batsmen & leave them there!!
Do Not Consider Indian Cricket or Indian Cricketers to be On Par with their Standard of Playing Test Cricket - Because The Runs Scored on Flat Tracks & Against Weaker Bowlers & Opponents with "An Adverse Home Advantage" does Not Matter How many Records any X,Y,Z has for that Matter of fact.

To an extent yes. This is the 3rd series we are playing with SL in this 9th series..most of it at home! Centuries have gone up drastically
Commentators, statisticians, cricket fans, please stop devoting so much media bytes and headlines to the "100" number.
(Most number of 100s, most number of 100s before lunch, most number of 100s as captain, most number of captains while married, most number of 100s while divorced, most number of 100s in tropical countries, etc).
100s should never be considered as a measure of batting greatness.

Cricket is a game of time pass. It provides time pass even off the field through statistics. It is probably only game in the world which generates so many statistics.

Not sure about Bradman.
But Gavaskar certainly played against some of the best and most fiercesome fast bowlers in cricket history - Marshall, Holding, Roberts, Thomson, Lillee, Imran, Wasim Akram........men against whom the fast bowlers Kohli regularly comes up against on the docile pitches of India are mere schoolboys !
Technically, Kohli might not measure up even against Mohinder Amarnath, who consistently excelled against Marshall, Holding and co when they were at their fiercest !

Ok , Piri at least we are on same page here. Needless to say Comparing Gavaskar with Virat is criminal.Forpast 10~15 years cricket is amended to made Records for B'man so that BCCI can mint money by creating false greats!!

Kohli should make sure that he wears helmet as a sign of safety. Gavaskar was selfishly using skull cap. Bradman did not have to face fast ballers for most part of his career.

Apart from the quality of bowling the confidence of the teams India played earlier has made the difference. All others had great teams! Though we cannot take away any credit off Virat, earlier Indian batsmen definitely faced better teams & bowlers..
