SPINNER N/LYON WAS AHEAD OF FAMED AUS PACE TRIO AT GABBA.!
by damodaran mohan on Nov 24, 2017 08:24 PM

True the Ashes series is no more the fight between the two best sides of the world. Its rather a fight of two mediocre sides and is not surprising that the quality of cricket is not of top quality.Given this background the Aussies bragging about the England side being made up of relatively unknown players is laughable when the Aussies themselves lack big world beaters other than Smith or a Warner etc.Aussie pace certainly lacks the fire power of Johnson of last Ashes series in Aus with likes of Mitchel Starc..Hazelwood..struggling whole day at the Mecca of pace at Gabba on first day for just 3 wkts! The English could have been in much better position if only they had been more positive using the feet and rotating the strike playing the Spinner Nathan Lyon who was brilliant leaving the famed pace trio behind at Gabba. Still I feel the Brits look the better side to win and retain the Ashes.

Ashes has lost its charm and credibility

Ashes as well the teams of Australia and England has lost its charm and credibility because of no good talent in both the team or no upcoming sensation in either team. Ashes is just a formality now and not looked upon world over. Earlier days Ashes used to be a stiff competition and the matches were exciting in all terms. Now both the teams are no more exciting. The thirst of performance and play is lost from the heart and minds of both team players. Its just enjoyment for them whether they lose or win, probably because the players anyway are going to get good payment and neither the coaches or selectors or board are tough on non-performers and non-performance. Coaching also seem to be poor as they are not able to find good talent like yesteryears. Now the only team to be looked upon is India. Australia and England can learn a cue from Virat Kohli how to play a match and make it exciting for fans.

Let Virat Kohli learn to win series in Australia Eegland and South Africa then he can talk now all his centuries and wind are all against No 7 and 8th teams so let us not gloat and let us wait till Jan 18 when India tour South Africa the real test not playing against SRI LANKA back to back in span of 4 mths and shouting hoarse aboutb winning
